About Tail Stories

Tail Stories was founded by Daniel and Rachel, two lifelong animal obsessives with a shared love of storytelling, sarcasm, and dogs who think they run the household. What started as a few bedtime ideas for their own pups — Barney, Reuben, and Peanut — quickly turned into a full-blown collection of hilarious, heart-warming picture books for grown-ups.

We turn wagging tails and muddy paws into witty, illustrated stories that celebrate the wonderful chaos of pet life.
Every book blends British humour, inclusive storytelling, and a dash of camp sparkle — because pets aren’t just companions, they’re characters.

🐾 Daniel – Writer, creative ringleader, and expert in overthinking biscuit choices.

Usually found with a laptop, a cup of tea, and one of the cockapoos asleep on his legs. Daniel brings the words, the wit, and the slightly too-detailed storyboards.

🐾 Rachel – Editor, design brain, and Labrador negotiator.

Owner of Peanut, the most opinionated Labrador in Dorset. Rachel keeps the stories tight, the ideas flowing, and the chaos mildly under control.

🐾 Barney, Reuben & Peanut – Chief Inspiration Officers.

Their contracts include unlimited snacks, veto power over all storylines, and mandatory cuddle breaks.

Tail Stories exists to make people laugh, remember, and feel connected — to their pets, to each other, and to stories that sparkle with warmth and mischief.
